Florian Maier-Aichen is a landscape photographer based in Cologne, Germany and Los Angeles, USA. Often shot from obscure angles, aerial views or estranged vantage points he’s photographs capture everything from apocalyptic shorelines to eerie moonlit forests.

Vincent Fournier presents us with ‘Space Project’ a stunning Kubrick-esque visual exploration of various space research centres around the globe. It has been described as playing on the stylised notion of utopia, but I see this more as finding beauty in the mundane, literally bringing the subject back to earth(excuse the pun). You can see his work at The Steps Galery in Pimlico, London. Part of the London Art Fair.

Edinburgh based Photographer and Graphic Designer extraordinaire Joe Skilton’s Flickr is home to a lovely collection of lofi film photos… I’m hooked. (Via Breaksof10)

Ryan Allan’s skateboarding portfolio is pretty special. His great use of perspective and scale set his photos apart others. The above example of Geoff Rowley four story’s up is pretty insane.

National Parks are so American and somewhat of a question mark to us Brits. We have districts, peaks and areas of countryside, but nothing compared to National Parks. Even the name has favorable connotations; the frivolity of a park mixed with the grandeur of being National. They also have better wild animals than we could ever have. Man-eating grizzly bears (see Day 96) and wolf packs (Day 93) are the usual, whilst the nature lovers of England would get excited about spotting a couple of rare birds through their foggy binoculars.
So, over the course of one hundred days the editor of Glacier National Park Magazine, Chris Peterson, has documented what he saw using a range of cameras that have been in production since the park first opened one hundred years ago. Using a mixture of film and digital including a Speed Graphic, Kodak Pocket Vest camera and an 8 by 10 field camera, he has uploaded one image for each day onto this blog.

Howies have just started a photo Tumblr for all the amazing photos that didn’t quite make it into their Autumn ‘09 catalogue. Each day they will post up some of the 20,000 shots taken on their recent shoot in Sweden. Each image is nothing shy of jaw dropping and perfectly documents the carefree, happy and active lifestyle which the Welsh brand portrays. I’m a sucker for film photography… Apple + D
