Originally from Vänersborg, Sweden Lina Scheynius is a photography with a extremely personal and intimate portfolio. After having her site bookmarked for a while now i’ve watched as her work has done nothing but flourish over the past year accumulating in her recently shoot ‘Making Waves‘ for AnOther Magazine. Currently living in Paris her work can be seen in such publications as AnOther Man, Double, Exit, Elle US, Numero Korea and Dazed and Confused.
Sophie Jarry is a French photographer who has recently moved to London from Paris. By working mostly on film her work translate not only a moment but also a deep passion for music. It’s almost as if each photograph had a double story to it. The portraits translate simplicity in a unique and dulcet way. The artist shouts honesty in slight abandon which gives the photographs an authenticity rarely found in digital photography. Lighting and display marks a clear cut to Sophie’s live shots. Colours become more alive and enhance the photographs with charm and allure. Her work was exhibited at the Proud Galleries in London for two months.
I’m not usually one to go for snaps of todays youth being being all rebellious, but I quite like the photography on Dimitris website. Especially those that have a genuine personality or humor to them which is a step away from being floppy haired goggle chic. His blog is always worth a visit tobehonestiexpectedmore.com
German born Michael Wolf has been intensively concerned with the topic of vernacular culture for many years. In this series titled ‘Architecture of Density’ he presents us with a brutal representation of Hong-Kong high rise living. There is a surprising beauty that comes from the scale and the patterns created from the monotonous repetition.
An other week and an other great shot for U.O. This time round it’s Australian photographer Luke Byrne that delivers the goods. Bobby Whigham found Luke while browsing through flickr one day and after a few emails a package full of the summers key pieces where in the post. His photographs provide a steady stream of documentation of parties, travels and the quiet moments in between. “My close friends are my favorite people to shoot,” the 26-year-old says. “I’ve built up a really good rapport with them over time, so they are really natural and pretty comfortable with me shooting all the time.” Byrne recently moved his studio, SPR/PPL, from Adelaide to Sydney, but not before shooting some of those friends in our summer collection.
Logan White is the great photographer behind the new Urban Outfitters Spring Press Look Book ‘10. For few years that I’ve been working at company this has to be one of my favorites so far. It’s a great mix of beautiful grainy photography, great locations, summer vibes and what looks just to be friends hanging out. Shot on location all over Islamorada in the Florida Keys over the course of three days it’s a great step away from your traditional high street fashion brands look book. Logan’s take on the U.O. brand is breath of fresh air and keep your eye’s out for more of her work in the future.

‘Tilt‘ is a great personal project of photographer Romain Laurent. I don’t know weather it’s the altered perspective or just seeing the streets of New York but I instantly fell in love with these eye catching snaps.
Jason Lee Parry is a 30 year old photographer who currently lives in Los Angeles, California. As a child, he lived in over fifteen states. The constant visual stimulus as a young child was the result of the endless traveling and he needed an outlet to express his creativity. He first picked up a camera when he was fifteen and since then has not stopped creating images that evoke undiluted sexiness mixed with a feeling of youthful freedom. His work has appeared in U magazine, Lush, Clay, Tush, LA Milk and Vice. You can also check out him and whole host of other great Photographers, Stylists and Set Designers over at his agency Current Studio.
